I was with a consulting company when I first arrived. My boss got promoted to manager of the transportation division in public works so there was an opening for a traffic signals engineer. I applied and got interviewed and got the job.

It's my first position working for the City and the whole system is different. It's a big system to work though and learn where to get things and how to do things there. So it's different than the consulting and the private sector I worked in before so it takes time to get used to that.
