Michael researched the licensing process on the APEGM website before coming to Manitoba. He visited Manitoba before immigrating, met with APEGM and began the licensing process overseas. After immigrating here, he challenged three exams and wrote the ethics exam over the course of two years. Upon successfully completing those exams he became a Professional Engineer because he met APEGM's experience requirements with over one year of Canadian experience in addition to eight years of international experience.
