BUSINESS CULTURE

When she moved here, Margita noticed huge differences between the workplace in Slovakia and Canada.

At that time, Slovakia offered government-placed, full-time employment and free post-secondary education. She found the workplace here more competitive and that many professionals immigrating to Canada had to work first as unskilled labourers before they could find better paying work.

Margita says that people here need strong English skills, determination and knowledge of how business works to pursue what they want to do.
