Although the structure of the medical system in Canada is much the same as in China, she found that switching jobs from a doctor to a midwife meant experiencing a different professional culture. As a doctor in China she rarely had the opportunity to spend much time with her patients. Now she looks forward to building relationships with her clients, and spending up to an hour per visit with them.
