Workplace Culture

Alexandra says the biggest difference between the Colombian and Canadian workplace is the emphasis on individual, versus collective, project management.

She finds Canadian project meetings more targeted and results-driven, as opposed to the consensus driven process in Colombia.

Another major difference is the cost of labour. Manufacturing in Colombia is more labour-intensive than in Canada.

Technology acquisition is also less common in Colombia so it is cheaper to have ten people doing one job instead of one highly skilled worker.
